I started taking photos when I was young, 7th or 8th grade. From there I decided to take classes in high school and college, both for fun and because it was interesting. After that I dabbled here and there, but nothing serious. Then came along my "other business", where I took photos so I wouldn't have to buy them. So I started clicking away. But it was different, I was having a lot of fun and I was getting better. Then I started to get a few pictures published. You know: newspapers, web sites, catalogs, and magazines; not only locally, but around the World. People wanted my photos. It's a business that has continuously grown, but I still love it as a hobby.... So it's a hobby with fringe benefits. I do it for myself, for hire, and for people to see cool pictures.

I prefer action photography, but not mainstream football, baseball, basketball. There is enough of that in almost everything we pick up. I like bicycle racing, skateboarding, surfing.... sports that challenge the individual, not the team; those subjects "talk" to me. It's also fun to be outdoors and have "front row seats" to all the action, plus being able to travel all over the country and the world is an added bonus. I'm lucky. Additionally, I like to take pictures of people - but people by themselves, not engrossed in their sport - it's harder to represent their personality properly. So, portraits are very challenging. I love looking at still-life and scenic photos, but I suck at it. I can spend a whole day setting up a panoramic photo only to have it come back looking like Grandma's vacation photos. That's why I'm sticking with action and portraits. OK?

So, I'm off to go shoot more interesting people in interesting places. If you are out there and see me say, "Hi" - I'm really enjoying this, so I'm usually in a good mood. Take care and have fun. Oh and be careful, I will shoot........
